Mysteries.....

Hi readers,
although it has been a while
since my last post, I have been
doing some reading!

My most recent reads
have been

Death al Dente, and Crime Rib
by

The books are set in a small
country town where everyone practically
knows everyone else, and many of the local businesses
are involved in a food festival, when someone is murdered....

I won't say more.... you will have to
read the books :)

Happy reading,  Jenny

Phryne Fisher, and more......

Hi readers,
I have recently been reading
some historical mystery fiction books.

If you enjoy the

books and t.v. series
by Australian author

you might also like to try....

books set in America, and
known as the

or the

series, which is set in London
by

I hope you try one of the above -
let me know what you think :)

In the meantime,
happy reading.

Faye Kellerman

Hi readers, I hope you
have been enjoying whatever book
you are reading at the moment.

A couple of books I have read recently, are
The Burnt House
and
Blindman's Bluff
by....

I have also read other titles by
members of the Kellerman family in the past.
Her husband

Jonathan Kellerman
and their son
Jesse Kellerman

Their books seem to have
more twists than barley sugar when
it comes to 'whodunit', but that's what
I like about them :)

 Happy reading,  Jenny

Espionage.....

Hi readers, I have
recently finished reading...

Prince of Fire

The main character in his books, is
Gabriel Allon - a restorer of old paintings...
and an assassin.

To describe the character, I guess
Allon is the Isreali version of the
C.I.A., James Bond, etc.  Admittedly, the story
line does sometimes involve the political
situation in Israel, but they are works of fiction.

The books are 'stand alone' titles, so
you don't necessarily have to
read them in sequence.

I could list them as
murder/mystery, but I'd prefer
to call them 'Espionage' , and
from time to time, will
add similar authors you
might like to try to
this heading.

In the meantime, happy reading
Jenny

Caught short.....

Mmmm, apologies for the post title, but
it's hard to decide what title to use,
but hopefully it will seem
appropriate by the end ...lol...:)

I have just finished reading

by

Now you can see where I was going with the post title...lol...

This book is fiction based on
numerous stories about events that occurred
over the years in the Red Cross Tea Rooms
at the Brisbane City Hall.

The stories are as told by 'Mavis'
who visits the tea rooms regularly, and
observes many things while enjoying her cup of tea.

The book also covers the dilemma
faced by many when the tea rooms were closed, as
it also involved the closure of the 'sanitation area' !

This is book has a many lovely 'remember when' type
situations,  quite a few chuckles, and some scripture
references along the way.

Let me know what you think :)

Happy reading,  Jenny
