Mysteries.....

Hi readers,

although it has been a while

since my last post, I have been

doing some reading!

 

My most recent reads

have been

 

Death al Dente, and Crime Rib

The books are set in a small

country town where everyone practically

knows everyone else, and many of the local businesses

are involved in a food festival, when someone is murdered....

 

I won't say more.... you will have to

read the books :)

Hi readers, I hope you
have been enjoying whatever book
you are reading at the moment.

Their books seem to have
more twists than barley sugar when
it comes to 'whodunit', but that's what
I like about them :)

Isn't it frustrating

when your favourite author

seems to take forrrr...everrrr to write

another book...lol...!!!

Why not read some

like to read!

Modern day Poirot....

...is the best way I can think to describe

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache!

 

Gamache is the main character

in a series of detective books set in

Canada by...

 

Louise Penny

 

I have read many of the

books, and came across this

author by chance.

 

You are able to read the

books 'stand alone' however

the detective is nearing

retirement in the most recent

titles, so I suggest an

earlier title

first.

....when it comes to

deciding on a new author to try!

 

If you are keen for a

This book is a

compilation of short

murder/mystery stories, but

with a difference!

The beginning of each story is written

by one author, but a second author finishes it!!!

 

Some authors have main characters

who are popular with the reading public in

their own right, so it's intriguing

what can happen when

another well known character

is involved :)

Recent read.....

Hi readers,

I have just finished reading

the latest title of

the Bob Skinner series by

Quentin Jardine.

 

This series started with

Skinner's Rules, and

are murder/mystery novels set in

Scotland.

 

The most recent book in the series is called...

Hour of Darkness.

 

The books can be read as

'stand alone' books, but if you

prefer to read them in sequence, the

story continues from book to book

with his daughter growing up, etc. and

promotions of police officers.

 

If I had to offer a similarity to give you

an idea what the books are like, I would

have to say the t.v. show

'Dalziel and Pascoe'

which has been on the A.B.C.

over the years.

 

Hopefully this will

give you an idea what to

expect before adding them to

your list of new authors

to try.
